Quilting Ministry
Creating Comfort, One Quilt at a Time

Our quilts provide comfort and celebration for individuals facing difficult times, marking milestones, and even reaching across the globe to support communities in need. Through this ministry, we bring together church members, serve our local community, and contribute to international relief efforts—all while building friendships among our quilters.

Where Our Quilts Go

Prayers and Squares

We create quilts for church members who are in need of prayer, support, or celebration. These quilts are given as gifts for healing, comfort, and joyous occasions like graduations. Each quilt is a unique token of love and prayer from our community to an individual.

Lutheran World Relief (LWR)

Our quilts reach across borders! Partnering with other Lutheran churches nationwide, we provide quilts to Lutheran World Relief, where they’re distributed worldwide in places like refugee camps, hospitals, and orphanages. These quilts serve as ground covers, tents, or warm blankets, providing essentials and hope to people in crisis.

Project Linus

Locally, we partner with Project Linus, offering handmade quilts to children from infancy to 18 years old who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need. These quilts are distributed through hospitals, fire departments, and police departments in the San Diego area, giving children a sense of comfort and security during challenging times.

Join Us
Open to All Ages and Skill Levels

Our group meets twice a month, and members also have the flexibility to create quilts from home. All are welcome, regardless of age or quilting experience! For beginners, we offer a mentor program to help you learn and grow. Don’t feel pressured to make a whole quilt—you can simply help with cutting, ironing, or any step you enjoy.

Annual Quilting Retreat

Each year, we gather for a quilting retreat at Luther Glen, where we deepen our connections, relax, and focus on our shared mission.
